Group of local folks wanting to work from their homes

There's a three-months-old group in our county, Home Based Business Group, that is still feeling its way toward its mission. This is also my first intel, so my only authenticated website is linked, but not relevant to this post. I just installed the HBBG website, a WordPress blog with essentially no content yet. We just put together a handout, and since it hasn't been published anywhere else, I'm going to paste most of it below as a good way to know about us. I would be interested in learning of similar groups in other localities. Our Motto
If you don’t have a job, create your own! What is a Home Based Business? Any business you do from your home as a hobby or for profit. Or one started from your home that grows beyond your home. Or one with a home office and work done at another location. Who should have a Home Based Business? Anyone who needs more income than they have now! Folks out of work, the physically challenged, single parents, seniors, teens, handymen, etc. Anyone with get-up-and-go! What types of businesses are represented in HBBG? Website builder, bookkeeper, scrapbooker, photographer, sellers of all kinds of products, crafts, prepaid legal, home care & cleaning services, bee keeper, and many more. Who would benefit from belonging? Anyone who is thinking about starting a Home Based Business but doesn’t know how to get started. Those who already have a business and want to make it grow. What are the benefits? Marketing ideas, networking, increased self-confidence, motivation, and education. Members can share booths at festivals and shows. Discounts for members only. |

Glad you like the intel, Frederick. Evidently someone did not, because I got this note from an intel reviewer which total mystifies me: Less advertising. Intel should be information, not a pitch to buy something. I wonder what the reviewer thought I was selling!
This is a very good idea that you have implemented for working with local groups and educating them on working from home. Working from home is a blessing! Thanks for sharing!!

Good basic info. But anyone that is going to be starting their "own" biz, needs to be aware of the start up costs. That is why I'd suggest finding an already reputable company that is established that has all the tools in place where you don't have to re-invent the wheel. And yes, it just so happens that I am in that business. It is centered around travel and is growing exponentially. And yes, anyone that contacts me, I will be happy to share.
Very good job. I left a comment on HBBG and visited the The Torch Worship Center website. My niece lives in Roswell, GA. How far away is that from where you are?

87 miles. We're pretty close to the North Carolina border.
I have been working from home for the past five years; love networking Internationally; and have earned several community recognitions. Two of my favorites are "Network Magic Queen" and being one of several 2009's "People of the Year"
